199.5 Lbs

This morning I weighed under 200 pounds. That's right. Somehow I'm losing weight. If I could only bottle this and sell it, I could make a lot of money. How do you bottle my plan though? My plan is summed up in two words: "eat less". Who would buy that?

One More Win

My basketball team won two playoff games this weekend. We play in the championship game at 3:30 pm next Sunday. Woot!

201.0 Lbs

That's right. A new low. Maybe I can get to under 200 by Monday? I have two basketball games this weekend and I'm playing disc golf today.

One Down, Three to Go

My basketball team won this season's first playoff game. Three more wins and we win the championship for the first time ever.

I had 11 points and I was 5 for 5 from the free throw line.

65 at McClain

65 at McClain

I shot a 65 at McClain today. That ties my lowest round there. I had 3 birdies and 3 6's. I shot a 30 on the front 9.

Cory shot a 63. That's the second time I've seen him do that and I think those 63s are his low rounds out there too.

Three Hour Saturday Morning Classes Are Not Awesome

There is a 7% chance I'm going to die before the end of class today.

201.5 Lbs

I weighed 201.5 pounds this morning. That's the smallest number I've seen in years. Just the other day I noticed that I can see my feet again. I don't have to pay neighborhood kids to tie my shoes anymore!

Tomorrow Will Be a Better Day

Tomorrow will be a better day. I will make it that way.

Tomorrow I will sweep my front porch clean.

Then I'll sweep the road in front of the porch.

Eventually, I'll sweep the road a little in each direction.

Then I'll do it all over again, as many times as needed.

Someday I'll have a different porch. It'll still need sweeping.

We're Number One

I've played in a particular basketball league 13 or 15 times in a row now. The league runs three times a year. For the first time ever, my team won the regular season in our division and we are the number one seed for the playoffs. We finished with 8 wins and 2 losses. We get a first round bye. Woot and booya!

We play at 4pm on Sunday. Maybe we can finally win a championship. We deserve one! = )

Tess' Growth Chart/Projection

growth_chart

Using Excel and the above numbers provided by Tess' doctor, I've projected her development. If she maintains her current rate of growth, when she's 100 years old she'll be almost 102 feet tall and weigh 1,434 pounds. That's a big girl!

To get an idea of how big this is, I've photoshopped this image. It shows a 100 foot tall Tess next to the tallest player in the NBA, Yao Ming:

Tess' immense size is going to cause all sorts of trouble for Gina and I. In 100 years (I assume I'll still be working at Rackspace), I'm going to require a very large salary in order to build and maintain a large house. However, I'm confident with 100 years of good reviews, I'll be able to justify such a salary.

Updates

  1. I shot a 68 at McClain yesterday. I had two birdies.
  2. A kid out at McClain yesterday said he was carrying an "anti-venom kit". This is the same kid I told about the rattlesnake I encountered. Also, this kid said he saw a cottonmouth on one of the creek holes on the back nine. I wonder what's in an "anti-venom kit" exactly.
  3. My basketball team won a league game against a team a division higher than us yesterday. We killed them. We are now 8-2. It's our best season maybe ever. Playoffs start next week. Hopefully we can win 3 or 4 games and maybe win a championship.
  4. I weighed 203.5 lbs yesterday. I've lost weight just by eating a little better. I haven't really made any changes to how much I exercise. I've played a lot of disc golf but that's mostly just a lot of walking. Maybe I'll start eating even better and working out some. I'd like to get under 200 lbs (maybe even somewhere close to 190 lbs).
  5. I plan on spending most of today doing homework, reading, and writing tests for my dad's company. I'm only writing one set of tests this year. So, that'll leave me more time for school. Also, there are three NFL games I'm going to watch and maybe two NASCAR races.

cs5513 Entrance Quiz Results

So, I missed the first day of class in Computer Architecture. During the first class, the professor gave something he called an "entrance exam" for taking the class. It tested what students knew coming into the class and was given to help students decide if they are ready to take the class or not.

Here are the results for this exam and a copy of the exam itself:

http://www.cs.utsa.edu/~dj/cs5513/entrance-quiz.html

Apparently, all but three students who took the test should consider dropping the class. That's pretty encouraging. I imagine the exam will be a pretty good predictor of student success in the class. I wonder how many students will drop?

Nancy Grace is Back?

Supposedly, Nancy Grace is returning to the air tonight.

If you've never seen Nancy Grace, tonight would be a good time to tune in. Her head is going to explode.

I wonder what she'll be talking about? =)

Oh, I know. The same case that's been covered on her show for the last forever, the Casey/Caylee case.
