I'm not hugging that baby. Nobody is hugging that baby. Why does it have fangs? Is it a vampire or some sort of werewolf-type creature? Why draw a baby like that for a book meant for children? What were they thinking, really?

The teeth are too close together for fangs, and also not pointy. I think you're over-reacting. OTOH, I wouldn't hug the baby either. But just because he/she/it is ugly. Not that I blame the baby. Some babies are just ugly. Not their fault. I'm sure they have wonderful personalities, or whatever.
