You Can't Handle the Truth

John Kenneth Galbraith said:
Faced with the choice between changing one's mind and proving that there is no need to do so, almost everybody gets busy on the proof. We associate truth with convenience. We also find highly acceptable what contributes most to self esteem. Therefore we adhere, as though to a raft, to those ideas which represent our understanding.
We all just got burned. Especially you, Luis.
